Monroe and The Kennedys

If the birthday song wasn’t enough

the photo snapped later spoke

volumes

the stances and the

protruding chests devoid

of direct cornea to cornea

action

poked fun at the viewer

When a country that teased

and greased palms of others

welcomed change

who would have thought

an opportunity would arise

to validate suspicion

and slap you and scar your graceful

facade so socially indignantly

it would number the days

the legends stood tall

One by one

should they fall

This would be the only way

to avenge your honor

Damn that photo

so perfectly flashed

without you

The epitome of grace

upstaged still by an angel whose

light shined brighter than the most

grand yacht sailed in Mykonos

Now, we know why the artist did not

surface until your eyes were closed

While the public adored you
