There is Richness in Loneliness

Walking through the muddy
waters that everybody stands in
makes me lonelier than
a clown that tries to
tickle himself
without an audience
And there is a crowd somewhere
that wants company
companionship
But afraid of the ripples
that approach
while wading
Stagnant are they
those tall, short, stout
stick figures twisted and bent
to stay fixed
Even the clown tries
The pantomime lies
closing all eyes ceasing to live
around all that dies
And die the lonely
to the loneliness that be-stills
them
Can anyone say, “No” to you
if you have no ears to hear?
Only the lonely reads lips
And only they mouth what they
are too afraid to say
Mud holds much rich nutrients
Yet, who has the time to search
for them?

  1. When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Thanks!
