Black as a Cowboy

Ride ’em!
Until they call You, “Cowboy.”
Take hold of the reins
and raise your arm and fist
up high to show you mean business.
And, when that one tires,
raise the other one
Steady and balance yourself
to avoid being knocked off
the merry-go-round.
There’s no need to raise your voice
to be taken seriously.
Remember, you don’t have to lower
your head to know where you’re going

The Flower Pimp

The Flower Pimp

I created something

That was already there

It just needed me for cultivation

In all honesty, I feel pimped out

For being able to

 keep something alive

I didn’t know

The more it grew,

The more I grew

But it all started

Because I created something

That was already there

I made this thing my life

And it made me

I didn’t know

How green the world really is

Until it picked me from the litter

To take a stand

Still, I feel pimped out

But not exhausted

I like it

I didn’t know

Just how good it would be

Once you stood at full attention

I didn’t know

I would know

Countdown to Hell

Ring it

There goes the bell

Stand there or sit

It’s the countdown to Hell

Go kiss his hand

Place the chip on your lips

What glow isn’t so grand

His power can sink ships

You share Your blood

Day in Day out

Dare they call You a stud

Beneath the crud, You shout

Every turned page

Makes You shake more

Hung up in rage

You are the candy store

Go on ahead

Ring the bell

Make like savior, play dead

Because it’s the countdown to Hell

The Key to the Kingdom

trees021

Like a password

to enter God’s kingdom

A code is placed on the door

for only those worthy

of entering

Troubles at the altar

when left unattended

by those who have no faith

no structure

Not avoiding His Holiness

only daring Him to perform a miracle

of banishment and approval to leave

Taking what is not there’s

Giving pain by removing goodness

But where is the true fault

in Man’s judgment

to say All are Welcomed?

Those faithful patrons who

sit to hear the message

of the day

in hopes of chasing, warding, fending

the wicked away

Unable to forget how their given

riches were absconded from His House

think they helped furnish it

Malice joins them

Though their presence is congratulated

Forgiveness is the theme

Lo, for some it’s just a dream
